    Twenty Sixteen

Today I switched this blog from Twenty Fifteen to Twenty Sixteen, the new default theme that ships with WordPress. I first had the same first impression as every year. I liked the old one better. But after revisiting the site a couple of times I’m already starting to like it more and more. It’s a fresh start, it’s even more light-weight and it made me realize by looking at the category cloud that I want to cut down on categories and only use those that really matter (to me). It’s important in life to focus on what’s important and the same of course also applies to blogging.

I hope you had an inspiring Twenty Fifteen and I wish you an even more inspiring Twenty Sixteen. A Very Murray Christmas and a Happy New Year!

    Murray Christmas

The picture on top is from kokoen.net, I hope by linking back to them they will grant me permission to use it. The picture with Bill Murray is from a Netflix original Christmas special written by Sofia Coppola, Mitch Glazer, and Bill Murray with the special stars Murray, George Clooney, Amy Poehler, Miley Cyrus, Chris Rock and many more.

In A Very Murray Christmas, a snowstorm in New York City interrupts a live scheduled broadcast of a Christmas variety special hosted by Bill Murray. While the guests and many performers can’t make the performance, Murray puts on a show with the hotel and theaters workers, his team, and the performers that are able to attend.

    Breaking Down Walls

Here’s for some really powerful story telling. While looking at Human Made’s WordPress case studies I stumbled upon a video developed for Airbnb to mark the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall last year in November.

In May 2012, an Airbnb guest, Cathrine, told them a powerful story of a trip she took to Berlin with her father, Jörg, a Berlin Wall guard at the height of the Cold War. She wanted to show him the vibrant city Berlin had become, but it was the man they met at their Airbnb apartment that changed everything for Jörg.

This is by the way my first post published via the WordPress desktop client aka Calypso. Feels slick.
