    5 Helpful Morning Rituals

You might know one of his bestselling books, The 4-Hour Workweek, released in 2009, but you probably haven’t heard of Tim Ferris‘ podcast which was started in 2014 and already released over 100 episodes. He usually interviews people who are best at what they’re doing. He deconstructs world-class performers from eclectic areas (investing, sports, business, art, etc.) to extract the tactics and tricks you can use.

    4-Hour Workweek

Prior guests include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ed Catmull (President of Pixar), Tony Robbins, Peter Thiel (billionaire investor), Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park), Neil Strauss (7x NYT bestselling author), Josh Waitzkin (chess prodigy), and many, many more.

In one of the recent episodes he himself answers the question about 5 morning rituals that help him win the day. Although he not always completes all 5 of them he is convinced that if he ticks off at least 3 of them, the likelihood of that day being a home run is infinitely greater.

    1. Make your bed
    2. Meditate
    3. Hang or decompress
    4. Tea
    5. Journal

If you want to learn about the rituals in more detail, listen to the podcast episode.

  • The Power of Words

    The Power of Words

Business Insider UK spoke with the 2015 Toastmasters International World Champion of Public Speaking, Mohammed Qahtani, a security engineer in Saudi Arabia.

Qahtani grew up with a stutter and still deals with it occasionally, but speaking on a stage empowers him and rids him of the impediment. He said that his confidence grew from advice he received from a speaking coach, which was to tell himself that he’s better than the people in the audience.

«I don’t mean that in an egotistical way!» he said. Rather, he tells himself that he’s «better» in the sense that he’s courageously speaking in front of people who are sitting there to listen to what he has to say. It’s a mental shift that removes the fear of humiliation. «You don’t need to be afraid of them because they’re the ones admiring you,» Qahtani said.

You can watch Qahtani’s full speech entitled The Power of Words on Business Insider UK.
