In this video Google vice president of real estate Dave Radcliffe and architects Thomas Heatherwick and Bjarke Ingels discuss the proposed master plan for their new campus in Mountain View, California. With this proposal, the focus is on creating space for people, nature and ideas to thrive. Pretty impressive stuff.
Bjarke Ingels in the picture above is a Danish architect based in New York City. Hoping to become a cartoonist, he began to study architecture in 1993 as he thought it would help him to improve his drawing skills.
Thomas Heatherwick was born in London. Since the late 1990s he has emerged as one of Britain’s most gifted and imaginative designers. His innovative approach to design has earned him a reputation as an „ideas engine“, probably one of the reasons why Google selected him for the proposal.
